VILLAGE HALL COMPLEX
The Complex
consists of the main Hall, a Sports Pavilion, a Youth Wing
and the Parish Council Office and Archive Room.
The main HALL was built in 1989 and comprises of a Hall that can accommodate 300 people, a kitchen, toilets and the James Martin Room (meeting room). In 2000 a foyer and large store room with extra washing up facilities was added. The Hall has complete access for the disabled and is equipped with air conditioning . The Hall has an annual Health and Safety inspection and a Food Hygiene Certificate. It is Licensed for various types of entertainment but not for the sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell drink on the premises must obtain a Temporary Event Notice from SODC after gaining written permission from the Parish Council. The Hall is a regular venue for Age Concern on a Tuesday and for the Pavilion Playgroup on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. The James Martin Room can accommodate about twenty people and can be booked separately. The Parish Council meets here. BOOKING THE HALL 1. Book the date with Mrs. P.Payne, the Caretaker, at 3 Baronshurst Drive, Tel. 01865 891066. She will give you a booking form and the Standard Conditions of Hire. If you are selling alcohol at your event you will also require a permission form to apply to the South Oxfordshire District Council for a Temporary Event Licence (TEN). If you are using recorded music you must apply for a Public Performance Licence. The exceptions are:- private events such as family, birthday and wedding parties. As the office is only open on Tuesday and Friday mornings there is a post box for Parish mail in the Post Office. 3. One month before the event pay the outstanding amount plus a cheque for £100 which is held against breakages etc. 4. Collect the keys to the Hall on the event day, having arranged the time with Mrs. Payne. 5. After the event, if all has been left in order, your £100 cheque will be returned uncashed. |
