Shaping our Future Together   -   Your Village   -    Your Voice

The Chalgrove Village Plan Steering Committee was set up in May 2007.   The aim of the Steering
Committee is to by a process of consultation throughout the community (no matter what
age group)
to gain information relating to issues raised by the residents of Chalgrove.  To analyse this information and publicise as a strategy and action plan document in order to promote or improve social, economic and environmental well being and quality of life for all. Also to achieve sustainable development
for the
future.   The final plan will be made available to all residents, local businesses and organisations,
the Parish
Council, County Council and District Council.  It will be published on the South Oxfordshire
District Council website alongside other Oxfordshire Villages Village Plans.   The plan will highlight
policy and areas for action.  All residents of Chalgrove are invited to join an activity or an action group
to ensure implementation.

The overall process broadly covers the following steps and can take up to 18 months to accomplish.

*   Establish a Steering Group
*   Carry out Consultation and Analysis
*   Formulating Action Plans and Strategies for the final plan
*   Publish the final plan and Implement the Action

From initial consultation the areas that currently matter most to the residents of Chalgrove are:

The Environment of the Community                                  The Heritage of Chalgrove
Green Chalgrove                                                                   Education in the Community
The Village Amenities                                                          The Development of Chalgrove
Older People in Chalgrove                                                   Recreation and Leisure
Youth Activities in Chalgrove

Continual consultation to gather views and participation on the above from all sections of the community
will happen over several months - it is a very important phase in the process.   It will involve research,
interviews and presentations, drop-in events, and questionnaire.

Regular updates on the Steering Committee progress will be published in the LINK magazine.
