Dating from 1340s the superb wall paintings adorn the chancel of St. Mary's Church.   They were
discovered in the
19th century beneath layers of lime-wash by the Reverend Robert French Laurence.
They depict the life of
Christ including the tree of Jesse on the north wall and the story of the "Golden
Legend" with a judgement scene
on the south wall.   Saints adorn the window niches.   The east wall
shows the culminations of both stories and the
depictions of St.Peter and St.Paul.

The Paintings are of great historic interest and among the best preserved in the country.
